Participants will study, experience, and perform traditional West African drum rhythms, as well as learn related history and culture. Importantly, each participant will be provided a drum to take home, thus, ensuring that they will be able to always have access to their drum.

 

The program will focus on traditional West African rhythms from Senegal, Guinea, Mali, and Ivory Coast. Students will also learn about indigenous drumming around the world.

 

After the completion of a four-week program offered during the month of June, students will be rewarded their own drum kit, a mobile app, and year around support from either the instructor or program mentors.
